She has special concern for children and senior citizens. She also enjoyed teaching children from J.J.
clusters and at the same time tried to bring awareness about different issues to their mothers. Keeping
in mind the overall development of children, she keeps organizing different activities and competitions
for them, like drawing & painting, story writing, fancy dress, best use of waste material etc., as also
different games. She also took out a children’s magazine “Indradhanush” for more than 2 years which
encouraged children of her locality to show their creativity. She takes extra care of old people living in
the neighbourhood and helps them in whatever way possible.
Seeing the above efforts in her day to day life, her mother-in-law, who herself was a truly dedicated
social worker and a very active Inner Wheel member, motivated her to join Inner Wheel so that she
could get a platform to help many more people. Thus inspired by her mother-in-law, Meenakshi joined
Inner Wheel Club of Delhi Vikas in July 2000. It was a relatively new club at that time and the very
next year she was handed over the post of Club President. Her hard work and commitment was duly
rewarded when the Club bagged 6 service awards that year including one running trophy. She also
got a special appreciation award “All in One President” and also received certificate of appreciation
from India National Polio Plus Committee of Rotary International.

contributions to the society and as the Health Care Committee Chairperson-she organized a multispecialty
health camp by bringing together all clubs of the District. She also got clubs to participate in
the MTNL Perfect Health Mela. Under the Sub-Committee for Anti Child Labour she organized a joint
project with 19 clubs to help the children of ‘Salaam Balak’.

hold the posts of District I.S.O., Treasurer, Secretary, Vice Chairman and now Chairman. She has

stitching, embroidery and knitting. She has immense love for Hindi literature and has her own small
library consisting of works of all famous writers.
She is sincere, caring and dedicated. She believes in the saying – “Work joyfully and peacefully,
knowing that right thoughts and right efforts will inevitably bring about right results.” Her mantra is - ‘Enjoy every moment of life’.
